Dirt Dogs Excavating recently installed a new Tamangur Horse Riding Track in Larkspur, Colorado. This Tamangur Track is a new, specially constructed oval track for training of Icelandic horses. This track will eventually host competitive Tamangur horse events.
Dirt Dogs Excavating was tasked with a very specific and exact set of requirements which included: excavating the track, laying down 6″ of calss 6 granite road base followed by 63″ of sand clay granite cursher fines and topped with 3″ of black volcanic scoria which was brought in from Steamboat, Colorado in 8 truckloads.
The track designed with black volcanic scoria for the footing. The track had very specific 2% banking on the corners and was laser leveled to perfection.
Purpose: It is used for training and exercising Icelandic horses and will also host competitive Tamangur horse events.
