Barn Pad capped with Road Base in Elizabeth, CO

Did we mention that we laser level our barn pads…so they are perfectly smooth? We do!

This project took about 4 days of work. It was about 40′ x 50′ and if you notice the photo above – we graded around to create a flow-line that moves water away from the barn. We brought in 3 trucks and  laid down a 6″ surface of road base at the engineer’s request.

Finish Grade for two bay building that will house an RV

Dirt Dogs Excavation did the finish grade for a barn pad in Elizabeth, CO several months ago. We recently visited that location again to view the finished result. Cleary Building (a fantastic local builder) erected a beautiful, two bay building that will house an RV. We also installed the recycled asphalt you see. Shop Pad- Elizabeth, CO

This is an excavation for an shop pad (soon to be – man cave) in Elizabeth, Colorado. The excavation work for this building is surrounded by a beautiful forest of pine trees. To carve out this little beauty we just used our skidster. The job only took 2 days and pretty soon the new building will be sitting on top.

Building Pad Excavation in Elizabeth, CO

Dirt Dogs Excavating is proud to have excavated a new building pad for an indoor horse arena for yet another equestrian rider (ie. horse fanatic)  Elizabeth, CO. This building pad will be the foundation of a beautiful indoor horse arena for some exceptionally well taken care of pair of horses. This building pad is 57′ by 97′ and on top of a hill so the views are amazing.  We’ll be back to do the finish grade after the building is erected in a few months down the road. (We previously excavated another horse arena for this same equestrian fanatic not too long ago.) So these horses will end up having both an indoor and outdoor arena and their own barn to boot!

RV Storage Facility

Dirt Dogs just finished up working on an RV Storage facility in Elizabeth, CO. Earlier in the year we took a raw piece of land and moved approximately 125,000 cubic yards of dirt to create the building page an initial drainage. It took us about 8 weeks of excavation work to get that ready to build on. The owner then built a 32 unit RV storage facility.

Once they were done buildng the building we came back for “round 2.” We brought in 140 semi loads of asphalt to cover the road in…the area around the building and a parking lot.

Cut to Fill Excavation

This is another “cut to fill” pad for a horse barn out in Elizabeth, CO. The building will be a 52’x72′ structure that will keep the horses and hay warm and dry in the winter. If it rains up above the building we have the ground landscaped so water will flow nicely around the building. You can see how we have created a nice flat spot which will make both the people and animals joyful! Right now there’s no driveway but typically we put one in. If you need a nice little horse barn or shop on your little slice of heaven give us a ring!

RV Park

 Excavating an RV Park in Elizabeth, CO

Need a place to store your Recreational Vehicle in Colorado? Dirt Dogs Excavating  is creating five acres of RV heaven out here in Elizabeth, Colorado. Seen from the air out excavation project gives you a birds eye view of the project. There’s a good size building which will be built – 330 ft by 80 ft for indoor storage which will hold about 32 RV units. That building will be placed in the center of the light area. Outdoor storage is the red area that is just road base.  Once again Dirt Dogs Excavating is moving the earth and making the world a better place for people with dreams of building businesses and homeowners wanting to improve their property!

RV Storage Excavation in Elizabeth, CO

Once again Dirt Dogs Excavating is working on another huge excavation project in Elizabeth, Colorado. We are moving the earth for a large indoor facility that will be able to house 32 RV units. RV means “recreational vehicles” in case you’re wondering. By-the-way…this is a “cut-to-fill” earth moving project. Cut-to-fill is where we remove (or cut) the earth in places where the land is elevated above the desired height and then moving it down to areas where the ground level. This is a great way to leverage the land resources that already exist on site. Just a footnote…the phrase: “cut and fill” excavation is also known as excavation and embankment. In this photo we are spreading topsoil on the exterior slopes. If you look closely, you can see our talented men (smiling for the camera) and machines  moving A LOT of dirt.  What? You can’t see our handsome faces? Shoot! We’ll try to zoom in closer next time for that.

After 8 weeks our brave and talented men have moved approximately 125,000 cubic yards of dirt on this project so far. (In case you’re curious, that’s about the size of a small island in the Pacific – but without the ocean.) We’ve still got about 4 more weeks of earth moving to get this beautiful ground in shape. Also, you can see the pad we’ve created for the building (in the light sandy area) as well as some of the grading we’ve done around the pad which is so pretty it brings tears to my eyes just looking at it.

Well, we’ll have another update or 2 on this excavating and grading project so sit tight. The next photos we’ll shot from our new drone. (As long as we don’t crash land it into a tree…)

Indoor Arena

This indoor horse Arena in Franktown was a massive arena we built for a customer in Franktown. As you might be able to tell, this was a multi-million dollar job. We used our special laser leveling machine to get that perfectly smooth and level finish grade.

Barn Pad in Parker, Colorado

This is a new Barn pad we built in Elizabeth, Colorado. It will support a detached shop. This is a building pad prepped for a concrete slab. We used class 6 road base on the top. Those are the facts. But rumor has it that our competitors were running to the store to buy a year’s supply of teddie bears and hankie’s to cry on because they know that Dirt Dogs Excavation is THE BEST barn pad company in all of Elizabeth AND Douglas County AND Elbert County AND El Paso….shoot we could keep going but they know and you get the idea.
